Our set

For our set we originally wanted it be set in a dark crypt, with stone steps in the centre displaying a glass coffin with our Snow White inside it. Behind will be stone walls, and an archway close to the camera.
Crypt wise we wanted the right kind of arch so that the viewer would immediately associate it with a crypt.
We looked at Rochester Cathedrals Crypt, and the way in which the archways bend and how the decorative props such as candles and paintings are positioned around the entire cathedral.

Looking at various archways we decided that we would make the archway as simple as possible to keep the model the centre of attention.That is also the same reason why we had to tai the window out of the back wall, as well as the dimensions of the coffin interfered too much with window.

The back walls

To begin with we wanted to paint the back walls onto the flats, however we were shown a much better way of creating them, keeping the depth of field and increasing the texture it made them look more life like by using poly boards.

The Steps

We wanted to create the three steps out of DMF wood, as it would be strong enough to support the other steps as well as the coffin and model. We can then plaster and paint onto it to create texture and colour to fit in with the rest of the set colours.

The coffin

The coffin will be made from five pieces of perspecs, with one open side. This is so the coffin can lay on its side enabling a safe way for the model to get in and out of the coffin.

The floor

The flooring can be sectioned off to what we can see through the camera then covered with tar palling to keep the sand and stones for the ground in one place.
